Just out of the box Husky 455 Rancher 20-inch bar starts up fine but then dies. I’ve already taken it to the shop once–they said it’s fine. @#$%^!! So here I am dragging my kid’s video cam out in the woods. Is that retarded? Crap, I’m not that pretty!
Tank is full with very fresh 50:1 mix. Shell gas with the usual “up to 10% ethanol content.” Air filter is immaculate. Just barely into a second tankful of gas.
This is my first Husky. Never had a saw do this before. If you come back and this video’s gone, it means Husqvarna stood by its product and fixed/adjusted/replaced this machine.
I’m not up in any 180-foot Douglas fir–just a landowner thinning some trees and clearing some brush in East Texas.
All ideas welcome. Thanks.
The Husky tech I talked to on the 800-line was useless. Well, he wasn’t Indian or Swedish– the dude was American and spoke good English, but he was useless: “You gotta bring it in. No, we’re not gonna watch your video.”
I don’t expect folks to kiss my b*** but he apparently missed the part where I’D ALREADY TAKEN IT IN ONCE! (Circle Saw company in Houston; Warranty Repair Invoice No 47383006; 115-mile round trip. @#$%!!!!)
So much for customer service….
It was never my intent to dump on the internet. I gave almost $400 for that saw and I was just looking for customer satisfaction from Husqvarna. Since uploading the vid, I have emailed them three times to resolve this and “Sorry, it’s outside the warranty” or no response. The saw has sat on a shelf ever since…. Maybe I’ll do a “Chainsaw vs. Tannerite” video with it…… Just disappointing.
I called Customer Service again to see if they’d make this right. No way. It’s like their corporate offices have a “stonewall” policy on social media items. I suppose their sales volume is great enough they can do this to customers.
The saw still sits on a shelf.
