Testing zone valve heat failure end switch or thermostat issues Honeywell
Furnace / Boiler won’t heat up the room
In this video I took the motor from a zone valve that I thought may have been faulty as the room it was suppose to send heat to was not getting any. I took this motor off and put it on a zone valve that was working. When I raised the temperature the motor kicked on, so I knew it was not a motor issue. I next tested the end switch to see if it was the cause of the problem. All items tested good. I next tested the wiring and that was good, which lead me to the thermostat. I went online and got the user manual from online and researched how all the controls worked and found that one of the double button electronic settings had it not responding appropriately. I am not sure if the power went out and caused it to go onto an alternate setting our what. I am just glad I was able to diagnose the problem and fix it. I know have a spare motor when it does get extremely cold and a motor goes out. It was only $25 on ebay! to find a simialar part on ebay auction title on ebay do a search of 802360JA/U HONEYWELL MOTORIZED ZONE VALVE MOTOR or just type in “V8043E1012 motor” and you will get the listing. This is a 24V .32a motor.
I suggest having a spare as did the home inspector when we bought our house. V8043 E 1012 V8043E. This trouble shooting took less than an hour and I was able to find the problem and fix it.
