If you want the reassurance of a BEAB Care approved electric shower, but have low, unreliable or non-existent mains water pressure, then The Safeguard Pumped thermostatic shower is the one for you.
It is specifically designed to connect to a cold water cistern which can be located as little as 8 centimetres above the top of the unit.
This shower has a built-in temperature stop which is factory set to guarantee it leaves Triton approved to BEAB care specification and temperature is maintained to the Care standard.
The unit has large easy to read markings and a non reflective finish around the temperature control; features approved by the RNIB for partially sighted users.
With all its’ approvals the Safeguard Pumped Shower brings peace of mind to the bathroom, for all users.
Let’s take a closer look….
The unit has a large, clearly visible, start/stop button.
The lever – handle on the temperature control makes it easy to turn.
With different coloured indicators for Power On, Low Flow and Shutdown, the shower is designed to be easy to understand. And there’s an audible feature for the start/stop and shutdown functions.
The Shutdown function turns the shower off automatically after one of four preferred showering times, which can be either 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes or a maximum of 30 minutes. So no risk of the shower being left permanently running.
Inside the gravity fed cold water supply connects to the water inlet of the shower which has a built-in filter.
The integral pump boosts the gravity-fed water pressure.
And of course, as with all electric showers, the water is heated instantly as and when you need to it. There is no need to use your stored hot water.
So let’s see just how easy it is to install.
The water inlet rotates through 180 degrees for either top, or bottom and rear entry.
Cable entry again is from either the top, bottom or the rear.
For new installations you can use the supplied template to mark out the water and cable entries.
Now let’s see what’s involved installing the unit onto rear entry supplies.
With the electric and water supplies in place, remove the cover from the shower.
Remove the trim plate and fit the top cable and pipe entry trims.
Fit a 15mm compression nut and olive to the water inlet.
Now place the unit onto the wall. With the bottom trim plate removed there is good clear access to the inlet, which helps make installation easier.
Temporarily connect to the water supply.
Check for level and mark the wall fixing holes.
Remove the shower and drill and plug the fixing holes.
At this point turn on the water and flush out any debris from the supply and then turn the water off.
Fit the top screws into position leaving the screw head protruding.
Hook the backplate onto the screws and connect the shower to the water supply, then fit the other screws.
